    Hallo Mathieu !
Here are the promised pics of the MPM-107 by Peter Muehleck. It's a really good quality and the hull design is by Chris Tonn. Usually best preconditions for a good running boat. The shown motor is a Plettenberg Terras, the biggest model of plettenberg. It makes 650kv and will run later @14s. That should be power enough . Do you have experience with radio controlled wings and frontspoilers ? It's a idea of us.
    regards Joerg

    Hello Joerg,

Thank you for the shots. The motor sure looks enougth power to get lightning speed !
Don't know about the weight but it should weight twice the motor I use !

The finish looks very good form what I can see, always pleasant to not have to spend hours and hours filling holes and sanding...

Regarding the radiocontrolled front wing (the back one is fixed on scale1 hydros) my friend who own a CT06 is on this project. At the moment he is making the hardware to mount and fix the servo to the front wing (and building a front wing also...) and plan to test his system with the third channel. Next step will be to had a gyro to the system.

On my side, the best I will do is make a front wing but won't use any remote control for modifying the angle : back to shore add some angle and test
But a remote controlled front wing or even better a gyro controlled one sure looks sweet

    Hey Mathieu !
That's the trick of a radiocontrolled frontwing. My experience is, that you need another adjustments of the wings in the launch phase than in the fullspeed phase. A automatic mode of adjustment via mixer or gyro would be perfect.
Tip ! Normally you can use a blade of a helicopter as a frontwing.

    Hey Mathieu !
I've a further question. I saw in your pictures that you have mount your strut a little out of the centerline. This displacement should work against propwalk and so. How much cm do you displace it ?

    regards Joerg

    Yup,

Yes the driveline is offset 11-12mm to the right. Yes it's to counteract the prop walk and tendancy to steer right and for now it works with the X455/3 prop.

Don't know if there is a need for more.

    Hello Mathieu !
I hope you had happy christmas days and a good start in 2014. Belonging to my hydro activities, so is no further practical progress. Only the planning in my mind is growing up more and more. But I will start soon.
So I think, I put the cog 6cm behind the sponsons as default. But I don't have all hardware parts to balance the boat to this cog and so I have to wait until I have all parts together. My last order was 2 Lipos 5s 8000mAh. The weight is 1054gr. each. I will put them as far as possible in front of the boat, but not in the sponsens. We will see if it balanced at last. The sponsons are planned for placing a servo to drive the front wing.

    regards Joerg

    Hello Joerg,

Thank you, hope you had good Christmas and new year days.

Regarding the CoG, I don't know about your particular hull but the "6cm" value don't look bad.
If you are able to place the motor forward enougth you may be able to place your the CoG where you planed. I want another way with placing motor in the back and Lipo packs in the sponsons but this is certainly not the only way to go.

My friend who build a CT06 also is planning to do the same with the front canard. Love the "Hi-Tech" approch but I'll won't do the same

Have nice brainstormings, it's at least half of the work !

    Hello Mathieu !
I've a further question about mounting the strut. Tell me your distance between the underside of hull and your propshaft. I ask because MTC offer a short and a long version of the Strut III. What is the right one ? The normal strut has a length of 66mm and the short version has a lenght of 50mm.
You can see it on this homepage: http://www.modellbaucenterlorenz.de/...2kg6rhoetrifb6

    Hi,

I can't give you the measurement under the hull because I disassembled the boat to sand the defects and get it painted.

I try to attach a photo of my actual strut but I'm getting trouble with german interface

    http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u...ps2b2fca2e.jpg

The center of the screw on the strut mount is at about 20mm from the inside bottom of the hull, don't know if I'm clear enougth...

Regarding the MTC strut, I'd say the shorter the better but you may have to remove some material anyway.

    Hi Mathieu !
That was info enough. The picture of the strut and the the picture underneath your boat show me enough to decide which strut I will buy. I take the 50mm version. Now I order the last items and then I will start slowly to build up the boat. I'll take you up to date.
    Thanks to you.

    Cool Tandem Wing 1:8

    Hello Jörg,

cool, you're not alone! There is a tandem wing.
The Somkin´ Joe's is a little older, but super built:

    Teras 50, 2 Winder (950 U/V)
    10S2P 4500 mAh
    Schulze 32/202
    Prather 240 reduced to 51mm

=> current speed, not fully extended (the lake is too small) = 60mph

    Hello Mathieu,

no, I drove only 5 or 6 times, but Joerg is right.
I bought this boot from Jens, and he drove this
    in the Video.
It. was a great luck for me to get this Tandem
Wing form him. I never see a Hydro run so great
    and so fast straight ahead.

P.S.: Den verstellbaren Frontspoiler würde ich lassen, den reißt es dir beim Abflug
    weg. Lieber fest verschrauben!

    Hey Mike !
Congratulations to your boat. It's running very well. This video was decisive for me to buy this hull.
The RC-adjustable frontspoiler should be a later feature. I'm still thinking about the construction. I will realize it only, when I have a good working and robust idea. The maiden run will be without a frontspoiler.

    best regards

I will inform you about progress nevertheless here in english, or are you able to read my german report in "Bauberichte" ?
