Hallo,

Thank you Gunnar. I was planning to try a 2215 as alternative to x457 reduced to x450.
But if you're saying 2118 is probably better than I'll try that instead.

How much of the trailing edge should be removed? Any pictures you can show so that I can have an idea?

Hi dmitry100,
the 2215 won't bring a significant difference in speed compared to the X457, you can choose one or the other, but it doesn't really make sense to buy both (OK, too much propellers never hurt, but it costs time and money).

To get significanly faster than with X457 you'll need more pitch, so the 2118 make more sense.
I haven't started working on my 2118 yet, so I don't have a photo, but basically I'd shape the trailing edge like an X457 in order to have a smooth increase of pitch at the end of the blades.

Oh ok. Definitely will go with that instead then... and I'll let you know how it goes.

So it would almost like detounging it more right? since low bar & high rake ABC's are already sort of detounged as it is ...

With the ABC the shape and the size of the blades are good, exept of the hard bent at the trailing edge, that's the only part I'd modify a bit (OK, balancing and making the blades thinner to the leading edge is necessary of course).

GunnarH, is it a good idea to do the reduction of trailing edge to all ABC props (2114, 2115) , or is it mostly best for very high pitch ABC props like 2118?
Do you think it causes a reduction of pitch or is the reduction? I'm assuming it helps drive stability though right...

Also, for the x457 reduced to x450-- would you recommend cupping the tips of the blades?

Why don't you just try one pair with and one pair without reduced trailing edge (same props of course)? Then you'll see what happens..n And then let us know ;)

I would say YES!
